Notes: The VEINTICINCO DE MAYO class were basically modified Italian TRENTO class cruisers. The 7.5" gun mounts were capable of 45° of elevation. They entered service in 1931 and were widely employed. Although often criticized as attempting too much on too small a displacement, these two ships were very popular in the Argentine Navy.
VEINTICINCO DE MAYO arrived at Alicante on 22 August 1936 to protect Argentinean interests during the Spanish Civil War, and returned
to home waters in December, 1936. In the late 1940s, a British radar set was fitted.
After a long career VEINTICINCO DE MAYO was decommissioned on 24 March 1960 and was sold for scrapping in 1962.
